The last local elections were my
first time voting. I never did it before because I don´t know sure if I could
it.
Now it´s different since it changed the laws about
automatic registration and voluntary vote, all the Chileans (older 18 years
old) have the chance to vote. I think it was a great change, a little step for get
better “something” our political system. Another things to improve it´s the binomial
but it`s more difficult because there are a lot vested interest.
The last 28th October I voted at
the Estadio Nacional, the place biggest of voting. I was a little lost because I was not sure about
which it was my table and the people´s stadium said me the tables in this opportunity(other thing
important, because I think it´s stupid to differ the tables between male/female) would be
mixed.
I voted because I didn´t want other
period of Sabbat in Ñuñoa, in my opinion 16 years like mayor it´s a lot (and my
politics ideas are very far of that man) but I never thought the commune would vote for the change, Sabbat is a “momio”
like Labbé, the great loser of this elections. Sometime I think it´s gestating
changes in the country, perhaps the students bring it and for that reason the
right is losing public office.
“Maybe this time there was a low
participation of the people” but I don’t consider true because it increased the
population of vote. And if the people aren´t interested in voting it´s for
something.
Congratulations on your first vote, I think it is important to seize this right.
